Library and Prep

Import Clips. Build the board.

Library tags every Clip as Music, Ambience, or Effect. Prep authors Scenes, the Global Pad, and Hotkeys. Neither view Stops a live Session.

Sound Forge Library: Clips grouped as Music, Ambience, and Effect.

Library

Import local audio, set kinds, rename Clips. Filter the collection without leaving the board.

Sound Forge Prep: the Mountains Scene with Playlist, Ambience, Hotkeys, and the Global Pad.

Prep

Build and Delete Scenes, author the Global Pad, assign Hotkeys. Preview a Scene without using Session.

Features

Prep to build. Session to run.

One GM, local Clips, at most one Scene active.

Library & kinds

Import local audio into your Library. Every Clip is Music, Ambience, or Effect — tagged once, then reused across Scenes.

Scenes

A Scene is the atmosphere you tap: Playlist, stacking Ambiences, Scene Effects. At most one Scene is active; the next replaces it with a Transition you authored.

Global Pad & Effects

Fire Effects that belong to the active Scene, or keep table-wide cues on the Global Pad. Effects overlap when you hit them again.

Intensity, Master, mute

Ride Intensity on the live Scene to scale Music and Ambience together. Master covers the whole output. Mute a bad loop without Stopping the Scene.

Hotkeys

Assign chords for Scenes, Pad Effects, Stop, and Clear Effects. They work with eyes on the table — even when Sound Forge is not in front.

Clip Packs

Share the Library as a Clip Pack — Clips embedded, Scenes and Pad optional. Hotkeys and Master stay put. Local once installed, not a streaming catalog.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does it need an account or the internet?

No. The Library is local. Import Clips from files you already have and run the Session from this machine.

What’s a Scene?

The atmosphere you tap: a Playlist, stacking Ambiences, and Scene Effects. At most one Scene is active. Tapping another replaces it with the incoming Transition.

Music vs Ambience vs Effect?

The three Clip kinds, tagged once in the Library. Music is exclusive — at most one plays. Ambiences stack and repeat. Effects play once when you fire them, and overlap if you fire again.

Can players run their own board?

No. One GM, one output. Sound Forge is the Session board for the person running the table.

macOS, Windows, Linux?

Yes. Builds are unsigned for now — macOS Gatekeeper and Windows SmartScreen may warn until code signing is added.

Discord / SoundCloud / a sound catalog?

Not v1. You bring your own Clips. There is no streaming catalog and no player client.

Whats the difference between Syrinscape and sound forge?

Syrinscape is awesome! It gives you a lot of control over the sounds. But it is also a lot of work to setup. Sound Forge is build with simplicity in mind. It is easy to use and get started with.
